INCUBATOR
At The Human Hive, we aim to train, support and empower ChangeMakers - individuals and organizations working to regenerate People, Places and Planet. We see ourselves as an incubator nurturing new ChangeMaking projects and groups started by those who’ve taken our training and use our methodology.
In our Incubator we provide:
-
Advice - drawing from our experience launching ventures
-
Training - for founders and teams
-
Infrastructure - admin support, fundraising help, legal status
We don’t offer money (yet!), but as we grow, we hope to provide start-up funds from our training profits. For now we charge a small admin fee, built into funding apps, to cover our services. Our support gives new ChangeMakers space to try out ideas, make mistakes, fail and try again under our banner, until they’re ready to fly solo. Until then, they are semi-independent projects of The Hive. We only support groups sharing key Human Hive values - working With, not For others to build a more welcoming, sustainable and
inclusive world.

THE HIVE ADVENTURE, CABRERA
The Hive was founded by The Human Hive Co-Founder Kate back in 2020. The Hive is in Cabrera, a coastal town in the Dominican Republic and offers ChangeMaker programmes for all ages. The Hive is where we come together with people from all over the world to learn how to better care for ourselves, others and the planet we all share.

LANGUAGE LINKERS
Language Linkers founder Bridie Jackson attended one of our online trainings in 2019 and approached us for support with her desire to use her skills as an online language teacher, to offer language lessons to displaced people around the world. Within a year Language Linkers was formed as a Human Hive project and very soon after became an independent charity. Today, Language Linkers provides free online language lessons to refugees and displaced peoples worldwide. The one-on-one lessons with professional teachers help refugees build language skills and connections that can open doors to jobs, education, and friendship. By focusing on language acquisition and human connection, Language Linkers fills a critical gap that is often overlooked by other aid organisations. Their personalised approach aims to empower refugees through communication, enabling them to access essential services, defend their rights, and integrate into their new communities.

REFUGYM
Refugym founder Brittany Pummell attended Human Hive trainings in 2017 and approached us for support with her idea to set up Refugym in 2018. Refugym is a refugee-led organization that was founded in 2018 to address the physical and mental health needs of asylum seekers in Greece. Refugym facilitates community-led exercise classes inside a refugee camp in Attica, enabling residents to support each other's wellbeing through sports and movement.
Refugym promotes refugee-led initiatives because exercise has proven mental and physical health benefits. The classes provide an uplifting escape from the stress and constraints of camp life. By encouraging refugees to share their passion for sports, Refugym creates an empowering, community-driven approach to improving health and resilience. Their motto is "by refugees, for refugees" - bridging health gaps by activating skills within the community itself.
